Mm hmm. I'd love that. So I am the go to sales coaching consultant for women who are at that like multi six figure mark and want to go to multi seven figures. I work with the fast pace ambitious Empire builders. In fact, that's one of my program names Empire and what I love to do is help women craft offers that are fantastically scalable so that they can sell them and do all that helping and healing that they want to do in the world. While creating extremely Wealth because I believe that smart women who have wealth in their hands, heal the world and are the changemakers. So that's my mission, vision values and who I serve. Love it.
Nicole Holland 3:11
All right, so before we hit record, we just were yappin because that's how we do and you had mentioned something about cars. And so what I'd really love to start with is just, you know, you live an abundant life, you share abundance, you help people create abundance through business, and I'm really interested in hearing about how you get what you want. Hmm, yeah.
Laura Wright 3:39
I love this topic, because it's so funny. We teach this to our nine year old son, I talk about this in business and these are those things when you're like, I just manifest it. It's not just I just manifested I'll tell you exactly what I do. So these are following the laws of the universe. This is how it works. So you can count on and guarantee it. So how we bought our car. Here's what's really fun. We had a car, it was fine. It was nice. We live in the city like right outside of the edge of the city. So we need like a It's okay if it gets banged up car. And for years My husband has wanted a Range Rover. And I've been like, I mean, we put maybe 20,000 miles on one car in five years because we're both at home. We don't go anywhere. So did we need this? Well, here's what we decided to do. We wanted to see did the thing that we wanted give us the feeling that we wanted feelings, everything. Because why do we align or buy or attract? It's because we want a feeling. So we went on vacation. PS that was another manifesting moment, but I'll tell you about that in a minute. We were on vacation and we decided to rent a Range Rover for a week to see if it gave us the fields and I swear to you and actually I'll say I shoot you not gotten to that vehicle slid into the leather seats and I was like I'm home. And I am not a person who is interested in cars. I drive like four times a year but we came home and my son says So when are we getting our Range Rover Because he now understands how you manifest you go experience it. You see if it gives you the fields and then you go by it and I think what happened with the secret is it stopped right there. And here's what I do differently. So we decided we were going to get one. So experience and field design, went to the dealership, we looked at some of the cars and like look, didn't even get in and we're like, and then my husband turns if you've ever driven past a Range Rover dealership, there's always like the car on the rocks. And he turns in points and goes, that one's ours. I was like, you're right, that one's ours was beautiful white it was it was again I shoot you not I was we were driving over I was like, This is the car I want. This is the amount of mileage This is the price I want. I we were literally we were manifesting talking what we wanted, saw it got in it. The guy starts to try to sell us and we're like, No, no, we want it. Now I want to tell you there was not the money in the bank sitting there waiting to pay for this luxury vehicle. What we did was we sat down with the guy and we're going through the paperwork and As we're doing this, I hear thing on my phone. So what is the ding the ding is there was a woman who I'd been talking to for a couple of months about working together, and she kept doing the when I'm ready when I'm ready when I'm ready. Well, so I went in with a decision ready to buy. Do you think that she immediately said, I'm in Laura, send me the contract? And do you think that her contract pays for my car? It does. That's how it always goes. We did the same thing with getting my son into a progressive private school. The number one thing I don't look at is how much does it cost? What I ask is what feels good. What do we want? I say yes, first, and then the money shows up second, but it's not by accident that shows up it shows up because I'm functioning in my business, creating packages on purpose.
Nicole Holland 6:49
So awesome. So tell me more about what you've created in your life. Like how are you living your life today that you weren't yours before and That you have created since you started applying the stuff and being really deliberate and creating on purpose like what is your lifestyle like today? What is your life look like? And why does that matter to you?
Laura Wright 7:16
I love how you said that. Like it really is life by design. In fact, my husband I talk about this all the time that like we create what we want. So right now, we are living in what I would call our current dream home and why I say that is because I don't think you end somewhere. I think people think like, oh, I'll get this and then I've got it. We are living in a beautiful five bedroom, three baths. It's a row home because we like that style. Instead of out. Why'd we well, four months ago, I would tell you, we travel whenever we want. And I'm going to tell you right now we're not traveling as much as we want. However, we still have that feel in us. So like we love New York Park Slope, especially in Brooklyn. It's like our little home base. We go up there all the time that we possibly can and so our lifestyle looks like being able to scoop Our kids take him out of school for a couple days go offer weed like short weekends we we found as a family five days of travel is plenty we go when we want to go I think the biggest thing that changed for me because of my history is having this huge real estate Empire losing everything and like having $60 for groceries for a week with my big gorgeous 200 pound like husband who eats red meat like that doesn't $60 does not go very far. We were in that like scrounge scrimp, save, try to like get okay and remember that mindset of lack mentality that vibrates and creates more of it. And I remember when I was doing the debt repayment to pay off all of my business from everything that fell apart in 2008. I remember consciously making a choice to continue to invest in myself in my business to choose things that made us feel good while we were repaying the debt because I think what happens is so many people get caught in like Need to scrimp and save and that is counterintuitive to how the laws of the universe work to bring you the feelings and the experiences that you want. So my husband and I, we do lots of we call it sometimes dreaming and driving. Sometimes it's while we're walking but we literally walk around talking about what we desire or how it's going to feel what we want and then we go get in motion towards it and some days it totally works out we get everything we want. Somebody like this house that we're living in and took us a year and a half to find it. And usually we're like we want something we snap our fingers and we get it and what's interesting as I look back now, I don't think I was actually ready to move when I thought I was ready to move but the moment we walked in this house, we're fast decision makers to I think that's another big key like seeing the car we're like that one. The school that my kids going to were like that one we walked in this house went into the for a looked around and my husband said this one in our realtor was like you have to walk through the whole house in order for me to write a contract I refuse. But we're like we know it. It's already you know, you know those feelings when it's already yours. So I think, like, that's how we live. I think we, we shop at Whole Foods, it's very important to us the food that we eat. I'm wearing a shirt that I think came from the gap. But I also have a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes. I think really the key is that we're living by choice. And sometimes the thing that I choose is $5. And sometimes the thing that I choose is $500,000. But I'm not looking at price I'm looking at doesn't make me feel good.
Nicole Holland 10:35
I love this conversation. I love where this is going out. And funnily enough, this dress that I'm wearing right now, that's gap too, because you know what, it feels good. The fabric is easy. I'm not going anywhere that I have to be a certain I don't have to have a certain look in order for it to match the environment. And I think it's so important. I love what you're talking about. It's not a money thing. I think so many people get stuck Stuck in success equates to an amount of money. And I believe and it sounds like you made to that success, at least for me is how much joy do I have in my life? How am I? How am I living and money? I love money. And money's really wonderful and important because it allows me to do more of what I love. And it allows me to bless more people with my gifts. One of the things I've been really sitting with in the last days because I have a new hire, and she's in week two, and it feels like she's been with me forever. Like she's so it's such a good fit, you know, and it's like, I get excited because the more we can do, the more people we can serve, the more amazing team members I can bring on and improve their lives as well.
Laura Wright 11:49
Yeah, you know what I'm thinking about. So I remember there was a while back where a lot of coaches were teaching you have to fly first class like if you're not flying first class if you're not in front of the Eiffel Tower, if you're not wearing your Lu batanes p Mine were bought for a very specific reason and I love them. But nine times out of 10 I'm wearing like my TiVo flip flops too. But what I learned was this is I went through a phase of flying first class because I thought I had to, and I ended up having like a really not fun experience. And I realized the truth was, what I need is what I need. So for instance, if I'm flying like a two hour flight there, I don't get the perks of the first class. So what I'd rather do is leverage that money to give me perks somewhere else. So like, if I'm flying to Florida, it's like a two and a half hour flight. I fly Southwest. Yes, I hit the priority thing so I can get on the plane first. But I've learned that I didn't get the benefit and I would rather leverage my money somewhere else and I really wanted to hear that like it's, it is about leverage. I think also getting our kid into the school that we're sending him to I remember our choice to do it was because he was bored. And his public school which is a great public school baseboard and boredom will manifest in Good stuff and bad stuff and we just knew we need something more. So the only question I didn't ask of the new school was how much does it cost? And I remember sitting there and like everyone here is how much we're spending and they're like freaking out and I'm like, you know what, this is the best investment I can ever This is my child, like where would you put your investment? I put it in him but also how fucking phenomenal they didn't have to even ask the price and again, I didn't have the money in the bank, but I knew if this was a line if this was connected that we were in the decision has been made decided place the money would show up. And do you think it did? The my stories become the same? And the money showed up? But it does.
Nicole Holland 13:43
So good. Yeah, okay. I'm just like, I'm like waiting for more. So how about can we talk about how in business you've done this as well, I mean, we can make the connection probably that how you do one thing is how you do everything. However, I would love it if you can share a little bit about how You, you know you, you're going away, you're scooping the kid up, you're going where you want when you want at the same time, you have clients and you have all these different things and you're doing interviews, yada, yada, yada. So I would love it if you can share a little bit about, the more intentional you've become and the more you've been creating on purpose, how you shifted your beingness in your business as the leader and as a service provider.
Laura Wright 14:25
Yeah. Okay, so one really important thing well, like 21st thing that I remember is how you do anything is how you do everything. So one thing I've learned and my former CFO, like, cringed, every time I would do this is I tend to invest forward. So I find the thing that I need in the future and I buy it, and I don't have the money for it, but then that creates the vacuum for me to build for it. And she's always say, Laura, you need to save up, it doesn't fit our budget. And I also know that if I don't have a reason to go make money, I don't make money. So what I do is I stick to that I also know this I have an amazing team. We have been together as this core team we've had some people come in and go for depending on little projects. But I have a core team I've been with for two and a half years now almost three, which is actually really long and online lands and I value them. I was actually we have a newer team member The other day I was like, Why do you not have a memo place and the place for me to click to buy because I felt so freaking good sending her money like I messaged her inbox or telling her how much I'm like I it's the best I think I've felt in a really long time buying anything I couldn't I saw her link come over to pay her and I was on a call and I was trying to figure out how could I send her money because it feels so good. So I want you to hear how I invest in myself. I invest in my business, I invest in my team. I've also learned something really important. I call it DDD, which is delete delegate do and the delete button has been pretty high. My priority list lately, you know, you've heard people who are like going through years of saying no or years of saying yes to things to like activate that what I've learned is there are there's a lot of buisiness in business that doesn't bring you profit clients or happiness. And so what I've been spending the last probably six months or so is really focused on if I don't do this, do I still get the result I want versus me having to add more things in. So I've been slenderizing my business and the other thing is I did something for years, which I call, there's got to be a better word for it in consistent marketing purposefully, so I purposefully was inconsistent. And what I mean by that what I now understand was, when I felt amazing, I would put out a marketing piece. If I wasn't feeling it, and I just put it out, it wouldn't work. And I went off track for a couple years where I did what I thought I was supposed to do. I churned content. I hired a big team. They did phenomenal work. I made a lot of money, I helped a lot of people. And when I paused it and went back to my living with intention and creating and using my own energy, I found that my consciously inconsistent has a better way of working was actually more about being in my rhythm. And those emails get gangbusters responses versus the one I'm supposed to send. So yeah, that was a long winded windy way to answer the question.
Nicole Holland 17:26
Such a great way though, and I can definitely relate. And it's something that I struggle with consistent like ongoing I shouldn't say consistently but ongoing, because when I take the time to be me, and to take time to disconnect and really listen to the messages in my mind and my connection with source, however we want to say it but when I really tune in to what matters to me and how I want to show up, it's like I don't have to think about it and it doesn't have to be structured or grip did or anything like that. And then I, I've got like this ongoing thing like this, because then I also hire people who are saying like and who are brilliant and are helping me and I want these things, right. So I choose and I invest like you do, I decide, hey, this is what I want. And then the house shows up. And I have these experiences where I go, yes, this is what I want. And then I start to find a lot of resistance. And then I go, is this just me like fighting the next level? Because I'm not quite ready to expand or is this me asserting who I am. And it is not in alignment. So that's a challenge that I go that I face regularly. And I find to when I am allowing myself to be and I'm in a conscious space, it feels good. I don't have to say really anything and I attract that which I do. Desire, whereas sometimes when I am am doing it intentionally and strategically. It's not as effective. And it's like, for me, at least my current desire is how do I meld the two? Right? How do I find that balance between being me and doing the things to help others see me and attract them?
Laura Wright 19:23
I found the answer. I hope my answer might be your answer. But it's something I teach. And I found and I help, like, if you do anything with human design, my manifester is my quickstarts. This is great for them and manifesting generators.
Nicole Holland 19:35
I'm a manifesting generator.
Laura Wright 19:37
Okay, so I'm going to tell you what I do and what I teach my clients for how well this works. So we call it create the plan and burn it. And here's what I mean by that. It's like one of the laws of my book is if we don't have any strategy, then we're just kind of like hammering away at things. We don't know if it's going to work. So I first sit down with my team and I come up with a strategic plan to hit a goal and then we are almost completely set it aside and don't follow it. Now I want you to hear what I'm saying is, it's not that we build it and don't follow it. It's that we build it. And then I go with my gut along it, and I can change it and adapt it. And that has worked amazingly for me. And then the second thing that we did was we haven't set with my team that once a week, my project manager will ping me and say, are we sending an email this week, if we don't already have things that are planned? And what's nice about that is it keeps me like, I can tune in check in and say, yes, or I can tune in check in and say, No, and it's okay, whatever I say, but the structure is now outside of me. So I hope that is helpful. But it's, I've been doing this for many, many years. And I finally found the system that works that allows me again to Did you get it, you need to have the like some things that are happening in behind the scenes all the time, and then you need to go with your energy and flow. And then the one other thing that I've done is I have a lot of repurpose, content that every once in a while when I'm in the land of but I brain know I need to do something I can go catch something that's gonna it's mine that's gonna get me excited again and I can send something out so I kind of have those little like tools and techniques to get me past that in when it's you know the difference between like when you're inspired and when you're just not inspired and when you're in that like Miss place, but you need to do something. That's my tools for getting me through those pieces.
Nicole Holland 21:27
Love it, love it. Love it so useful, so helpful. So why don't we plug the book to where can we get the book?
Laura Wright 21:33
Yes. So you can get the book on Amazon. I also have a link that we can give to you but the book is called no woman down and it is 51 little tiny action items and vignettes that help you create an income rise. They're basically we call them laws because my initials la w laws, which is a funny story because the whole book was a great experience when my copy editor was going through. She's like why does it say law The end of each of these and I'm like, that was my initial to say that I approved it and I was complete. She's like, I think you should call them laws. So they're little tiny stories to tell you how I live my life consciously and creatively, but they are all based around sales so that you can take little actions at the end and create an income rise and no woman down actually my son came up with the name because we were using this term epic income rise, and epic rise and everything and it kind of got tired of it. And I was explained to him like what the purpose of the book was, and he's like, what about no woman down like if you were on a pirate ship, and this he was seven at the time, like if you're on a pirate ship, and there was a woman that was going to go off the plank, you wouldn't want that so no woman down and it just kind of stuck but it really is my mission to help women rise economically. Love it. Amazing.
Nicole Holland 22:52
Laura, you and I could talk forever
and yeah, and time is coming. Coming up so there's a couple things number one I want to say again Listen guys if you are listening to this interview rather discussion if you want more of an interview where we go deeper into Laura's journey about how she went from zero to mid market many times over go on over to fascinating founders check that out at fascinating founders calm she is Season Two and beyond that Laura where can people connect with you and go deeper with you?
Laura Wright 23:33
Yeah easy breezy so it is EpicAtSales.com epic epic at sales sales dot com and just so you know, epic stands for enjoyable, profitable, intentional and change because that's what we actually need to do in order to create income rises. Amazing final words of wisdom. What should we leave with? Be bold, go do things ladies. Make them Money We live in an abundant economy that is actually created. So that's another really strong belief that I have is that money isn't finite, it is actually abundant, we need to create it. So be bold. Go ask for the sale. Don't think about a six figure business. Don't even think about a seven figure business start to think beyond multi seven figures think about saleable businesses. dream bigger, but make sure you put those smart foundations in place.
Nicole Holland 24:27
